Beginning the gradual process of reopening our dealerships

Our latest updates on the evolving COVID-19 situation

Update: 12 May at 15:00

The recent times have been challenging for us all, but we’re now starting to see some positive signs and light at the end of the tunnel.

We’re beginning the process of reopening our dealerships. In light of the announcements made at the weekend, we will be bringing our teams back into the dealerships in a considered, sensible and safe manner. Our top priority has always been protecting our staff, our customers and the general population as a whole and, by following the strict social distancing guidelines, we can ensure that we’re able to reopen our businesses in a safe, COVID-secure way.

The Prime Minister’s statement on Sunday now means that we can carefully start implementing our plans to get back to business. We’ve already started a gradual reopening of our aftersales operations, though you will need to contact us to arrange work, as our workshops will be open on an appointment-only basis for the time being.

You can find out more about the social distancing restrictions that we’ll be putting in place. We’ll update these pages regularly as we open different parts of our dealerships.

For those of you with appointments

If you had an appointment booked on or after 12 May, you should continue to visit the workshop as planned, and we look forward to welcoming you safely. Please look out for the social distancing guidelines and information at the dealership, and ensure that you follow all the signs and rules.

If you booked an appointment that was scheduled during the lockdown, we’ll be in touch with you to reschedule this in the coming days and weeks.

Find and reserve, apply for finance, and value your current vehicle — all online

Subject to the Government’s phasing conditions being met, we are also planning for the reopening our showrooms on 1 June. In the meantime you can still contact us via the usual methods, and can also use our secure online checkout facility to apply for finance and pay a reservation fee to secure any of the vehicles in stock, and get an instant valuation on your vehicle if you’re looking to part-exchange it.

You can start by searching our used cars and used vans, and our digital showroom team are hard at work getting finance examples and reservations set up for our new-in-stock vehicles.

Once you’ve secured your next vehicle, our team will get in touch with you to take you through the process before scheduling delivery to you, or collection from one of our showrooms when the time is right and it is safe to do so, in line with Government advice.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back safely to Listers.

Update: 30 March at 18:30

While our showrooms are currently closed, our online team are hard at work between 8am and 5pm to ensure that we answer all your web enquiries, live chats and phone calls. We’re here if you need us, so please contact us.

Our service centres are still supporting key workers and those who need to make essential journeys, by helping to keep vehicles maintained and safe on the road. We ask you to forgive us if we ask a few questions regarding your key worker status — we want to make sure we’re protecting everyone and follow the latest advice from the Government.

For those of you who wish to purchase a car, or trade-in your current vehicle for an alternative, our online team is available to answer any questions you have, feel free to contact us using our normal telephone numbers and email addresses. Our online team will soon be launching our secure online checkout facility, helping you choose your next vehicle, apply for finance and place a deposit from the comfort and safety of your home.

We understand that many people who have finance agreements through our manufacturer and other partners, may have questions or concerns around the finance aspect of their vehicles, which is why we have put together a dedicated Information for Finance Customers page, with helpful links for our customers. Please make sure you read up on the latest information we have posted on this page if this applies to you.

Update: 24 March at 16:00

Like other responsible businesses, we’ve been monitoring the COVID-19 situation since the outbreak began in the UK, and have kept up to date with the guidance and instructions given by the Government. Based on the latest updates, it is now time for us to go further in order to protect us all and ensure that the National Health Service is not overwhelmed.

All of our showrooms are now closed to customers. Our workshops and service centres will remain open to ensure that any vehicles for key workers or essential travel are maintained and roadworthy. We will support all of our customers and staff throughout this time, following all government guidelines and ensuring social distancing measures are in place in our centres to protect site staff and visiting customers. Our teams will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Our staff are hard at work launching an online facility that will help you purchase vehicles online, along with the ability to get an instant valuation for your current vehicle via our website, browse our range of vehicle safeguarding and protection products, securely apply for finance and place a deposit, without needing to visit our showrooms.

We’re making sure that staff and customers alike are taken care of. This situation is one that we have never had to deal with before, but I am confident that my exceptional colleagues will guide Listers through these uncertain times by learning, being resilient and adapting to any challenges that come our way.

We’ll continue to post developments to our website as the situation changes, and keep you updated with the latest news on our social media channels.

As ever, please let us know if we can do anything at all to help. In the meantime, I wish all of our customers, staff and suppliers the very best at this challenging time, and I look forward to welcoming you back into our showrooms in the hopefully not-so-distant future.

Stay safe.
