The latest information from Motability during the evolving COVID-19 situation

The Motability scheme is now open to applications from new customers as well as offering full and continued support to all existing customers.

We understand that this still leaves many unanswered questions for those new to the scheme. For further details, please contact your nearest Listers Motability Dealership.

Do I need to make an appointment at my dealership to place an application?

Yes, social distancing arrangements mean that we provide timed appointments to all our customers. You will need to make an appointment so that we can dedicate enough time to help you find the right vehicle.

If you are waiting on delivery of a car that was already ordered

Then we will be in touch as soon as your car is ready to be handed over. We are resuming the delivery and handover of cars that were ordered and that have arrived and, as soon as we're able to, we'll get in touch with you to arrange an appointment.

I am an existing customer when can I place an application for my next car?

If you are in the final three months of your lease or have had your lease extended due to COVID-19, you can now place an order.

Please note we usually require 12 months remaining on your allowance when you place an application, however due to the current situation until 31 August 2020 we are accepting applications from existing customers who have at least six months remaining.

If you'd like to make an application

The Motability scheme is now open to applications from new customers - you will need to make an appointment at your nearest Listers Motability dealership. The social distancing arrangements we have put in place mean that we would like to plan more carefully and dedicate enough time to help you find the right car for your needs.

If you want to hand your car back

You will still need to contact Motability on 0300 456 4566 to discuss arrangements.

We know that there will be a lot of uncertainty for many of our Motability customers at this time, and with Motability’s support team now working remotely, albeit with fewer colleagues, we thought you would find some of this information useful.

If you’re looking for the latest prices and vehicles available then, please get in touch with us. While we can't display Motability's pricing at this moment, we can still discuss your needs and offer suggestions and guidance in line with Motability's current situation. As soon as Motability are able to launch their prices, we’ll let you know, and return the vehicle search to our website.

If your lease expires in the next three months, you don’t need to worry about your mobility. With our showrooms closed, following Government advice, Motability have automatically applied a six-month lease extension to customers approaching the end of their lease.

You don’t need to contact anyone for the lease extension as Motability will automatically extend this for you. You will also receive an extended insurance certificate or temporary cover note to cover the extension period.

If you’re in a Scheme Car and have made an application, you will benefit from an automatic six-month extension to your lease in line with the above statement. Because Motability has temporarily closed the Scheme, we won’t be able to arrange a handover until the Government advises us that we can open to the public again.

If you had not yet placed an application then, please do get in touch with us to discuss your options. While you'll still need to use your existing methods of transport for a short while because the Scheme is closed, we can have a conversation around understanding your vehicle needs and get you into a position where you can make your application as soon as the scheme reopens.
