Zoe's Place receive a £2625 donation

Listers Toyota Coventry have combined forces with a local Rotary Club and other Coventry firms to provide the building blocks needed to boost play facilities at a local children’s hospice.

We have teamed up with construction and development firm Deeley Group, Briant Curtaining and the Rotary of Coventry Jubilee Club to help support the refurbishment of an outdoor play area at Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, in Ash Green.

Listers Toyota Coventry started the ball rolling by presenting a cheque for £2,625 to Zoes Place, which provides 24-hour palliative, respite, and end-of life care to babies and toddlers from birth up to five years of age, with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

The money will help to fund a number of renovations at the hospice, including the installation of an external canopy as well as providing additional outdoor toys for the children.

Deeley Group have donated a set of aluminium doors for the play area which are needed to improve accessibility.

The Coventry Jubilee Rotary Club have worked closely with us, to help facilitate the project.

Mike Shuttleworth, of Listers Toyota Coventry, said “it was great to team up with other local firms and help make a real difference in the community it is fantastic to know that the money we raised will help to spruce up the outdoor play area, provide more toys for the children to play with and create much needed shelter”.

Simon O’Brien, contracts manager at Deeley Construction, said: “It was a great project for us to get involved in and we really wanted to show our support for what is an amazing local charity. We have worked closely with the team at Listers Toyota Coventry for many years and hope that our contribution will help to improve the play activities available at the hospice.”

Muna Chauhan, corporate manager from Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, said: “The wonderful donation from firms across Coventry as well as the support from the Jubilee Rotary Club will make a big difference in supporting the hospice with refurbishing the play area. This kind of support is greatly appreciated and we thank all involved for making a difference.”

Warren Offer, chairman of the Youth Opportunity Committee at the Rotary Club, said: “Listers Toyota Coventry approached me to see if I knew of a project that needed supporting in Coventry. Having links with the Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, I knew that they had an area that needed some attention. All that was needed then was to get the help of other local businesses and the project soon came together.”
