What is car leasing?
Vehicle leasing is a long-term rental agreement that allows you or your company to use a car or van for a set period of time at a fixed monthly price. It is an alternative, and often cheaper, funding solution to buying a new car or van with a bank loan or dealer finance.
Car leasing is a long term leasing agreement that provides you the lessee with exclusive use of the car for a period of time for a fixed monthly price. The fixed monthly price is determined by parameters such as mileage, vehicle term of agreement amongst other things.
Do you offer personal leasing?
Yes, all our business leasing offers are available as personal leasing. Simply find the vehicle you’re after and call us for a personal leasing quote.
Am I eligible for business car leasing?
If you are running the vehicle through any business and the business is paying for the lease you may be eligible for business leasing.

I am self-employed; can I have a car on business lease?
Yes you can if the business is paying for the vehicle.
What does my lease contract cover?
Typically, every leasing contract from Listers covers the following:
- Free UK mainland delivery
- Full manufacturer’s warranty
- Breakdown recovery*
- Road tax
Is maintenance included in my monthly payments?
No, maintenance is an optional extra you can include into your leasing agreement. You can find out more what’s included in our maintenance below.
What does maintenance cover?
Maintenance contracts take the worry out of any added expenditure for the full term of your contract. If this option is taken out it removes the cost of any servicing, none warranty work and even your tyres for a fixed monthly price added on to your monthly rental. This price varies depending on mileage and term of the contract.
Is roadside assistance included in my lease contract?
Yes. Every business lease contract with Listers includes either 12 months or three years’ breakdown recovery, depending on the vehicle you have decided to lease.
Is insurance part of the lease agreement?
No. It is your responsibility to arrange insurance on your lease vehicle. The insurance must be fully comprehensive and the hirer obtaining the finance must be the main policy holder or a named driver on the insurance certificate.
What if I have an accident in the leased vehicle?
If you have been involved in an accident and your vehicle is declared a write off, you must inform the location you leased your vehicle from. You will need to provide written confirmation from your insurance company that the vehicle is a total loss before providing an amount for settlement of the vehicle contract. Listers Group can also off you Finance and Leasing GAP insurance should there be a shortfall in settlement.
Does the vehicle come with a warranty?
Yes. All of our vehicles come with full UK manufacturer’s warranty. The length of time this warranty covers will depend on the manufacturer.
Will a credit check be performed?
Yes, as part of the leasing application process you will need to submit a finance application.
How will my vehicle be delivered?
We deliver all vehicles on a transporter unless it is within a short distance and prior permission would be sought from you before the car was driven.
What happens when I need a vehicle serviced or repaired?
If you have taken out maintenance as part of your lease agreement, you will be supplied with a contact number at the beginning of your agreement that you contact to book your vehicle in for its service or repair.
If you have not taken out maintenance as part of your lease agreement, you must contact the finance company who will advise you what the process and requirements are.
What happens in the event of a breakdown?
All of our leasing vehicles include a minimum of 12 month breakdown cover from the manufacturer. This will depend on the vehicle you have chosen. With your vehicle you will have received an emergency contact number.
What if I need a replacement vehicle?
You will need to book in with the relevant garage to ensure there is a courtesy car available at the time of booking the vehicle in for a service.
What happens if I do more miles than set out in my lease contract?
As part of your lease agreement, you will be charged a set amount for any excess mileage at a rate per mile. Although with most lease agreements you can renegotiate your contract term and mileage during the life of the contract but not when the vehicle is within its final 6 months of the term.
