The all-new HR-V e:HEV from Honda delivers efficiency and responsive performance, achieved by advanced two-motor hybrid powertrain technology. The latest model to join Honda’s e:HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) range is the latest step for the brand to reinforce its commitment to electric and sustainable driving.
Honda have redesigned the HR-V with a desirable blend of usability, space, striking features and efficient performance. The new model has been giving premium SUV styling with compact dimensions, that has an easy entry and exit for passengers.
The next-generation HR-V e:HEV has all the simple, clean and modern design features which has been seen in recent Honda models. The silhouette design is achieved by the all-new HR-V having an increased road clearance of 10mm and the roof height reduced by 20mm. There has been an increased wheel size to 18 inches, with the front overhang being reduced to provide a modern and robust SUV appeal.
The vehicle has a simplistic design with smooth surfaces, a unique body colour and distinctive lower mesh grille to create a sleek and bold visual appeal. Aerodynamic improvements have been achieved without compromising the vehicle styling, with the front bumper, rear taillights and spoiler reducing turbulence. This has resulted in the vehicle having a higher stability and better high-speed fuel efficiency, whilst keeping a bold and expressive design.
The interior of the new HR-V has been redesigned to give a generous amount of space for occupants, with increased levels of comfort and practicality. Contemporary fabrics and textured materials feature throughout the cabin, providing a premium and quality feel. The interior design focuses on space and light for a sense of openness, whilst a unique Air Diffusion System directs air from the ventilation around and above passengers. This has been achieved so that passengers do not feel an impact of air directly on them, instead it is around the cabin and creates a comfortable environment for all.
A sense of openness with the outside world has been a result of many features, such as a higher driving position of 10mm and lower mirror attachments for improved visibility. The front seats are more advanced in terms of body stabilisation, preventing fatigue on longer journeys whilst improving comfort for everyday use. There has been optimised storage space with extra compartments and pockets, whilst a premium audio system and touch-activated lights reinforce the interior quality.
The all-new HR-V provides an enjoyable driving experience, with improved fuel efficiency and responsive performance. The e:HEV has a petrol engine with two powerful electric motors that have three interchangeable driving modes. The HR-V drives off in electric mode and changes seamlessly to hybrid mode when the engine is under high-torque demand. The petrol engine takes over when the vehicle is travelling at higher and more constant speeds. The driving experience is enhanced further with three performance modes, Sport, Normal and Econ.
The latest model features an intuitive 9 inch LCD touchscreen interface, designed to minimise driver distraction and has a simplified menu for accessing relevant features. The intuitive interface can be customisable to show only the relevant features that the driver wishes to see. Furthermore, the HR-V has an advanced driver-assistance system in place to reduce further distractions, which is also customisable. The new-generation model has over-the-air software updates and enables smartphone mirroring via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Equipped with Honda SENSING, the all-new HR-V now has a comprehensive range of advanced technologies and driver aids. Honda SENSING has been upgraded further with an improved processing chip and a new wider, higher-definition front camera for the HR-V. Featuring the Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMBS), the latest model can now detect oncoming vehicles, including cyclists and motorcycles and applies the brakes. There is a new Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) technology for the all-new HR-V and improves safety when changing lanes and passing vehicles. A warning symbol is highlighted on the door mirror when detecting vehicles in the driver’s blind spot, achieved through radar technology that now has improved detection capabilities.
The all-new HR-V e:HEV will be available in the UK at the end of the 2021.
