Mr Holmes - 12th July 2014
I first contacted the Toyota branch in Lincoln on Thursday 3rd July 2014 by telephone. I was directed to a Sales person called Michael Still. I explained my situation to Michael and he was more than happy to help, where other dealerships wouldn’t help including the dealership where I only purchased a car from 3 weeks before and tried to exchange it through them and they wouldn’t help.
Michael took down all my details including my exact preference of a car that I was looking for and my part ex details. Michael explained that he would speak to the Business Manager and come back to me. I explained Email was the better contact for me as I was working and Michael respected my preferences where again other dealerships just wanted to contact me by telephone.
Within an hour or so, Michael had come back to me with a vehicle that he thought would be perfect for me, I looked over the details of the car and it sounded like exactly what I was looking for, also attached was my finance representive which I couldn’t believe that all the figures were exactly what I was looking for, well within my monthly budget and a great part ex price for my car, again where other dealers had offered me £500-£1000 less.
I visited the Listers Toyota branch in Lincoln on Saturday 5th July 2014 to look at the car that Michael Still had suggested for me and I also looked through the full used stock of Aygo’s including the new Aygo model. I eventually went for a used car of the same spec as the one Michael had found for me but the person that was buying it had just pulled out and it was “Car of the month”. The car had everything I wanted.
I did a deal with Michael and the business manager the same day, the appointment lasted 3 hours. I was treated like an actual person apposed to another customer/deal and instead of being rushed in and out.
Unfortunately, my finance failed with the original creditor, but Tim Eccles, the business manager was very helpful and referred my case to the Central Funding Unit and I received a reply late Tuesday afternoon and we managed to get a deal.
We corresponded mainly by email but there was always a prompt reply and nothing was too much trouble. I arranged an appointment to sign all the paperwork on Thursday 10th July as I wanted to collect the car on Saturday 12th July.
I visited the Toyota branch again on Saturday 12th July to finish signing the paperwork and to collect the vehicle. The handover mainly dealt with Michael and was thorough, smooth and professional again compared to previous experiences with dealerships, I wasn’t rushed, everything was explained. All my requirements had been met, the car was exactly as described with no errors.
I believe Michael Still has only just joined Listers Toyota but his customer service has been the best I have received from a dealership in a very long time. I would like to thank him and Tim Eccles for all the help over the past week and a bit and having only dealt with Toyota and this branch once, I would defiantly return and recommend in future. I would definitely be looking at a New shape Aygo in the future, but not for at least 18 months.
I hope the customer service and service stay this way for the future.
