At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Volkswagen Group showcased its first fully electric saloon car based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB) platform. Clad in ‘smart’ camouflage using unique technology and multi-layered paintwork to create light effects on parts of the vehicle the ID.7 introduces a host of innovations as standard:
The production vehicle will be almost five metres long and the roof slopes elegantly to the rear in a coupé style. The ID.7 will initially be equipped with a powerful lithium-ion battery with a net energy content of 77 kWh. Thanks to the interaction of the efficient drive system and the excellent aerodynamic properties, the ID.7 will achieve ranges of up to 620 kilometres, making it suitable for long distances.
