Two new models have joined Touareg at the top of the Volkswagen product range – the new Arteon facelift and all-new Arteon Shooting Brake.
While the exterior design of the Arteon facelift is an evolution over its predecessor, the Shooting Brake is a standalone model. And both feature a completely fresh interior, so there is plenty to be excited about.
Arteon will be cementing its place in the premium segment, with a host of new technologies including the new IQ.Drive Travel Assist, capable of assisting drivers at all speeds up to a maximum of 130mph (where permitted), including traffic jam and roadwork assistance.
There’s just one ‘button’ to activate the adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane assist, as well as new a capacitive steering wheel with improved hands-off detection. This technology is standard on Elegance and R-Line trims.
Arteon’s interior has been completely overhauled, offering a fresh, unique environment. It’s now drastically different to the Passat and other models in the Volkswagen range.
The new design features premium quality materials and craftsmanship, bringing Arteon more in-line with a flagship model, rivaling Touareg.
A new air-conditioning control panel with soft touch controls, redesigned touch sensitive steering wheel, 30-colour ambient lighting integrated into the door trims and delicately designed air outlets all contribute to the truly refined interior.
Both models also offer optional IQ.Light LED lights and a new premium speakers provided by Harman/Kardon.
The Arteon models will also be available as a plug-in hybrid – the Arteon eHybrid, available in two trims, Elegance and R-Line.
Alternative fuels are rapidly growing in this segment, which makes this great news for everyone.
The eHybrid will be joining the range in early 2021 along with the ‘R.’ The technology will be familiar as it is the same as the Passat GTE:
Both models have an identical engine and trim offering, consisting of SE Nav, Elegance, R-Line and R.
The trim specification between the two models is almost identical, with one exception: the SE Nav on the Shooting Brake comes with keyless entry, and easy open luggage with virtual pedal.
You will be able to order the SE Nav, Elegance or R-Line, with the ‘R’ joining the line-up early next year.
