Meet Marcus Hudson, the superstar karter who works at Listers King's Lynn. Marcus has worked in the workshop at Listers King's Lynn for over 10 years and is a highly-successful karter outside of work.
Marcus’ interest in racing began at the age of 5 when his father would often take him to Wisbech Stadium on a Saturday night to watch the Superstox racing. Marcus started competing seriously aged 16 when he founded Hudson Motorsport with his father.
Since then, he has risen through the rankings to compete in the ABkC Super 4 British 250 Championship, which is the highest level of domestic karting with races taking place all over the country. The next level up would be a European competition, which would require regular travel to mainland Europe.
There are two local circuits – Fulbeck in Lincolnshire and Kimbolton in Cambridge – and the rest are further afield, including tracks in Cumbria and on the South Coast. Marcus rates Kimbolton as his favourite track, and it also features his favourite corner – "Dan Wheldon".
Marcus has had a successful career so far, with some of his achievements listed below. His biggest remaining Motorsport ambition is to win the Super 4 British Championship and he highlights his proudest achievement as being 3-time British Grass Kart Champion, and being unbeaten in five seasons on the grass. Another notable achievement occurred at Fulbeck when we made his way up the leaderboard to 2nd, after starting in 13th on a wet track!
Good luck with the coming seasons, Marcus, and we hope to see the Super 4 British Championship Winner's Trophy at Listers King's Lynn sometime soon.
