The WhatCar? Awards 2021 have been revealed and winning a handful of awards include BMW, Škoda, Volvo, Toyota, SEAT, Volkswagen and Porsche.
It has been an impressive year for Škoda, winning a total of seven awards including Best Plug-In Hybrid of the Year with the Škoda Octavia iV and best Estate Car of the Year with the Superb Estate.

Toyota win an award for Hot Hatch of the Year, with the impressive Toyota GR Yaris 1.6 Circuit Pack.
If looks do not attract you to this car, then the performance certainly will. Firstly, the GR Yaris was built by Toyota's racing arm, Gazoo Racing and designed to satisfy the World Rally Championship (WRC) regulations. BMW win a variety of awards, including Coupe of the Year with the BMW 4 Series and Luxury SUV of the Year with the BMW X5 xDrive45e.
The BMW X6 xDrive30d achieves Coupe SUV of the Year whilst the BMW 3 Series 330e wins Executive Car of the Year.
Based on previous years, you would expect to see Volkswagen winning awards and this year is no different. The Volkswagen Touran 1.5 TSI 150 SE returns this year, retaining the title of MPV of the Year, whilst the Volkswagen ID.3 Pro Performance Life wins Small Electric Car of the Year.
When sport and performance are mentioned, you may think of Porsche. This year the brand wins best Sports Car of the Year with the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and Performance Car of the Year with the impressive Porsche Taycan 4S.
The Family Car of the Year, goes to the SEAT Leon 1.5 TSI 130 Evo FR.
Fighting off hatchback rivals from BMW, Ford and Škoda, the SEAT Leon takes the win for a variety of reasons. The car has a spacious boot, spacious leg room for back seat passengers and a turbocharged 1.5 litre petrol engine. The Leon comes with lane and roadside assistance, as well as Tiredness Detection for those longer journeys.
