Vehicle Grant

Grants are available to reduce the initial purchase cost of eligible plug-in vehicles.

The Plug-in Grant for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles offers up to 35% discount, to a maximum of £2,500 for vehicles under £35,000.

The Plug-in Van Grant offers up to 35% discount, to a maximum of £2,500, only 1000 grants per business per for small vans, and up to 20% discount, to a maximum of £5,000, only 1000 grants per business per year for large vans.

The grant is automatically deducted from the retail price when an eligible vehicle is purchased, so there is no additional paperwork to complete. View the Low-emission vehicles eligible for a plug-in grant.


Home Charging (For renters, flat owners & households with on-street parking)

The OZEV grant allows you to reduce the cost of your home charger by £350. You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, up to a maximum of £350.

Are you eligible? (Renters and flat owners):

  • Own and live in a flat
  • Rent any residential property (this includes properties under the shared ownership scheme)
  • You must own an eligible vehicle and your home must have its own private off-street parking space.

Are you eligible? (Households with on-street parking):

  • Own or rent a residential property in which you live
  • Have adequate on-street parking as defined by your local planning and highways authority
  • Have permission from your local planning and highways authority to install a cross-pavement charging solution between your home and the approved parking space
  • Will install a cross-pavement charging solution before having your charge point installed
  • Own an eligible vehicle

Workplace Charging

The Workplace Charging Scheme provides support for organisations towards the cost of installing up to 40 electric vehicle chargepoint sockets at their sites.

The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (including VAT), capped at a maximum of:

  • £350 per socket
  • 40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you want to install them at 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site

Are you eligible?

  • Can be claimed by any business, charity or public authority (back claiming is not possible).
  • You must have off street parking & be able to outline a business need for electric vehicle chargepoints.
  • Your chargepoints must be installed by an OLEV-approved installer.
