With SUV’s being the latest trend in the automotive market, and Volvo being especially good at making them with their XC range, the new V60 was always going to be a tough challenge for them. However, with its precise and sporty new look, and an interior to match, the new V60 has graced UK roads with style and a unique Swedish flair.
Exterior-wise, it’s sleek and toned to perfection. With a dramatically upswept window line and a bold front-end, the new V60 combines confidence and elegance and stands out from the usual German Estate cars.
In terms of engine choices, the D3 and D4 diesel engines are seemingly the most popular. The larger numbered engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit that produces 190hp and gets from 0-62 in a respectable 7.6 seconds. It’s smooth and quiet, especially on a motorway, and has enough power for most occasions. Despite this, fuel economy is quoted very highly according to Volvo, with an official figure of 62.9 mpg.
