The All New Corolla Saloon will be the third edition of the new Corolla line-up. The Corolla Hatchback and Touring Sports are already starting to hit the market with great success, and now the recently announced Saloon is set to fill in the remaining gap to provide a choice suitable to match anyone’s needs.
The same super-smooth 1.8 litre self-charging hybrid engine that is offered in the Hatchback and Touring Sports will be available in the Saloon, which encourages an exquisite driving experience through its hybrid powertrain. This engine produces 122PS and 142 Nm of torque, with the added power of a 53kW electric motor which develops maximum torque of 163 Nm from zero rpm; meaning there is sufficient power for any every-day commute. It fulfils all the requirements that customers have come to expect from a Toyota self-charging hybrid powertrain -quiet, intuitive, responsive and self-sufficient EV technology with no need for plug-in recharging. It offers low cost of ownership, outstanding fuel economy and low CO2 emissions, and up to 50% all-electric driving on the everyday commute.
Building on the sleek and dynamic design of the compact Hatchback and the versatile Touring Sports, the new Saloon finds its own individuality by reflecting a more prestigious exterior design with all-new front and rear styling. The slim upper grille has a more three-dimensional design and connects with the top of the sharply designed headlamps, wrapping around the corners to emphasise the car’s low and firmly planted appearance. The unique signature of the front and rear LED lights also make the Corolla Sedan instantly recognisable.
Inside, interior quality remains very high, and is similar to the other two variants Toyota is offering. An elegant dashboard forms a stylish cockpit around the driver to make for an immersive yet spacious driving experience. Due to its Saloon nature and excellent use of space, the All New Corolla Saloon gives passengers plenty of leg-room in the front and rear to provide a comfortable accommodation no matter how long the journey.
Safety remains high on Toyota’s agenda, with a variety of safety systems to prevent accidents from occurring. An autonomous emergency braking system can detect pedestrians both in the day and night, and will automatically brake if someone goes within its sensor boundary. Lane keeping assist systems are also standard, to semi-autonomously drive and steer the car on motorways.
