The awards continue for Volkswagen
The iconic Golf has won the title of ‘Used Car Hero’ at the 2019 Autocar awards. This award comes just days after collecting the award for ‘best car for new drivers’ at the Auto Trader new car awards 2019.
Autocar praised the Golf for the low running costs of its diesel and petrol engines, and its diverse model range, including the recent addition of the intelligent e-Golf. The publisher was ultimately impressed by the Golf’s value for money on the used car market.
Autocar Editor Mark Tisshaw said: “The Volkswagen Golf has been crowned the 2019 Autocar ‘Used Car Hero’. We’ve picked out the nearly-new seventh generation version, which is available in many forms, from the electric e-Golf to the hot R version. Whichever version you choose, the used Golf blends affordability, versatility and reliability."

Volkswagen UK Managing Director Andrew Savvas collected the award on Tuesday 14 May during an awards evening held at the Silverstone Wing in Northamptonshire.
