The most recent member of the Volkswagen family has achieved the maximum five stars in the Euro NCAP test.
The all-new T-Cross performed outstandingly in the renowned safety test with top scores in every category, making it one of the safest compact SUVs currently available.
An array of safety features come as standard in the all-new T-Cross, including some features that were previously only available in higher vehicle categories. Front Assist area monitoring features Pedestrian Monitoring, Lane Assist, City Emergency Braking System, Hill Start Assist and the proactive occupant protection system, that work together to help prevent road incidents and take control when the driver doesn’t have time to react to potential hazards.
Proactive occupant protection system automatically closes windows and the sunroof, tensions seat belts and builds up brake pressure if there is a risk of an accident. Other vehicle equipment includes lane change assist, Blind Spot Monitor and the associated Rear Traffic Alert. Driver Alert System, Park Assist and Adaptive cruise Control (ACC) are all optionally available.
Euro NCAP is conducted through a series of common accident scenarios to create comprehensive test procedures. The T-Cross completed all assessment categories and scored a compliance rating of 97 percent in the “Adult occupant protection” category. Very few vehicles have scored this value, demonstrating that small SUVs can keep up with larger models. The T-Cross also achieved a very high child safety rating of 86 percent, underlining how perfectly suitable it is for families.
The combination of all individual ratings resulted in the overall evaluation of five stars, proving vehicle safety is not a question of the vehicle category when it comes to buying a Volkswagen.
