The race car GR Supra GT4 has been confirmed to launch by Toyota Gazoo Racing. This news has been released after the debut of a GR Supra GT4 concept car at Geneva Motor Show, and the GR Supra’s involvement at the 24 Hours race at Nürburgring.
The company plans to use feedback from customers to continue creating better cars, and desires to aid people across the globe to become involved in racing by growing its attention on customer motorsports.
The GR Supra GT4 has been created by Toyota Motorsport GmbH, based on the original global model, released at the start of the year by Toyota Gazoo Racing.
The competitions for the GT4 have easy entry requirements and small costs, and therefore it is common to have many private race teams getting involved. GT4 cars can participate in many races around the world, such as, the VLN endurance races and the continental series at the Nurburgring, the Michelin Pilot series and the Super Takiyu. The NASCAR Xfinity championship and the Super GT GT500 class are competitions that the GR Supra may compete in.
Toyota Gazoo Racing partnered with Pirelli, Akrapovič, and Ravenol to create the GR Supra GT4. Pirelli worked on the tyre advancements, Akrapovič aided the development of the exhaust systems, and Ravenol offered the lubricants. More information about the GR Supra GT4, including the release date will be publicized towards the end of the year.
