The first design sketches and information for the new California 6.1 have been publicized by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. This campervan has a redesigned interior, new assistance systems, the infotainment has been updated and now includes integrated eSIM, and digital instruments are newly available.
The California has maintained its popularity in recent years, with 18,000 being sold per year. This is because they are a fantastic all-rounder, ideal for any occasion. In the California 6.1, the sleeping and living areas have been improved, as well as the dashboard with new instruments and infotainment systems. Similar to the Multivan 6.1, the California 6.1 includes electromechanical power steering.
Furthermore, “Lane Assist”, “Trailer Assist”, and Side Protection have been added, as well as a side-wind compensation system that makes it even safer.
The California T6.1 will include a new 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine which has an output of up to 146 kW /199 PS. This will be premiered at the end of August at the Caravan-Salon in Düsseldorf.
