The newest member of the Mercedes-EQ family, the EQA, is now on sale and available to order. As the German manufacturer’s first all-electric compact car, the EQA has a lot to prove, but the numbers, reviews and images all suggest it will be a vastly successful addition to the line-up, moving into an electrified era for Mercedes-Benz.
Boasting a range of up to 263 miles (WLTP) from its 66.5 kWh battery, the 188 hp EQA joins the EQC and EQV premium MPV in the expanding Mercedes-Benz battery electric vehicle (BEV) line-up. The 66.5 kWh battery and 100kW DC on-board charger allow it to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 40 minutes, and from 10 to 100 per cent in five hours and 45 minutes using an 11 kW wall box.
The insecurities around electric vehicles (EVs) running out of charge have been smartly fixed in the EQA, as it uses Electric Intelligence within its navigation system. Included as standard, this system calculates the route that will get the driver to their destination the fastest, while also considering charging times.
The Mercedes-Benz EQA arrives to the market in two different trim levels. The entry-level EQA 250 Sport is priced from £43,495*, and features an impressive selection of standard specification options, including:
Opting for the sportier AMG Line trim will cost an additional £1,500, and adds a range of additional equipment, including:
Even more equipment can be chosen through the Premium package and Premium Plus package, which cost an additional £3,000 and £6,000 respectively, and offer a whole host of options to make driving the new EQA even more rewarding.
