Five-star safety rating awarded to CUPRA Formentor from Euro NCAP

The CUPRA Formentor is the first vehicle from CUPRA to be rated by the Euro NCAP. The Formentor was rigorously tested to ensure it meets the latest and strictest testing requirements from Euro NCAP. The SUV coupe scored highly in all areas: 93% in Adult Occupant, 88% in Child Occupant, 68% in Vulnerable Road User and 80% in Safety Assist.

A wide variety of safety systems and technologies ensure the CUPRA Formentor is safe for its passengers and will surpass the requirements expected from Euro NCAP on a daily basis. Some of these systems are Traffic Jam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Side and Exit Assist, Light Assist and Pre-Crash Assist, which work simultaneously to build a protective bubble around the vehicle and its passengers.

In addition, Front Assist with vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Assist, the integration of seven airbags, including a standard front-central airbag, Emergency Steering, Junction Assist and Emergency e-Call are among the standout safety features of the CUPRA Formentor.

The Formentor is the first vehicle from CUPRA to face Euro NCAP safety tests, and the tests are the strictest and most thorough tests yet. The organisation introduced new regulations last year and re-evaluates its testing practices every two years.

Euro NCAP faced the CUPRA Formentor with a series of tests including the new 'moving barrier to moving car' frontal crash test. The new test evaluates passenger protection and how the vehicle’s front structure would react in a crash. The assessment also included an updated side impact assessment, which now includes a new 'near-side barrier with more severe speed and mass' test.
