The first electric SUV produced by Audi

The Q4 e-tron is the first electric SUV produced by Audi, leading the way for Audi's clear vision of becoming carbon-neutral by 2050. The production process of the Audi Q4 e-tron will be carbon-neutral right from the start. In the UK, all new sales from Audi will be fully electric by 2030. The impressive SUV will be revealed to a global audience in April, with plans to be launched on the European markets in the summer of 2021.

Innovative design and technology

The Audi Q4 e-tron is innovative and technologically ahead in terms of interior space and design. The vehicle is sophisticated with a pioneering augmented reality head-up display and touch-sensitive steering wheel. From the point of entry, comfort has been prioritised with open wide doors and high mounted seats. There is a generous amount of space, including both leg and head room even though the second row of seats are positioned slightly higher than those in the front. In terms of spaciousness, the Q4 e-tron trumps that of its direct competitors in the premium segment.

The Director of Audi UK, Andrew Doyle stated that “full electrification at Audi has so far been confined to the upper reaches of the range in our larger e-tron SUVs and e-tron GT grand tourers, so the launch of the Q4 e-tron into the core compact SUV segment will mark the point at which its influence really begins to radiate”.

Storage compartments

The vehicles central console has a 4.4-litre stowage compartment with cover, two cup holders and two USB type-C sockets with an additional option to have four. To compliment all passengers inside the vehicle, each door has a 1-litre bottle holder. Another impressive feature of the Audi Q4 e-tron is the luggage compartment, providing 520 litres of space for luggage. The vehicle has folding down backrests and creates a virtually level surface, plus when loaded to the roof the luggage compartment provides a total of 1,490 litres of luggage space.

Augmented reality head-up display

Complimented with the Audi virtual cockpit will be the option of an augmented reality head-up display. In terms of navigation, the augmented reality head-up display showcases its strength, with a system that highlights intersections and turnings ahead of time for precision driving. Located by the speedometer on the vehicle display, the power meter provides important and relevant information such as the status of the charge of the battery.

Infotainment system

The infotainment system is fully digital operating, with an MMI acoustic feedback, 10.1-inch touch display (1,540 x720 pixels). The MMI radio has a DAB reception as standard and controls the infotainment system and a variety of functions for comfort. At the end of the year, there will be an expanded 11.6-inch (1,764 x 824 pixels) version available which will be the largest display in the Audi portfolio to date.

Futuristic steering wheel

Another impressive feature to the Audi Q4 e-tron is the steering wheel and is a nod to the future of mobility. The top-of-the-range design is flattened at both the top and bottom, giving the steering wheel a more futuristic look and feel with the optionally heating available. Similar to functions you’d expect to see on a smartphone, the steering wheel has touch and swipe gestures, allowing easy navigation through lists whilst driving.

Interior and performance

The Q4 has a level of interior space that far exceeds the current benchmark in the segment. Inside the spacious SUV you will find front sport seats that are heated with electrically adjustable lumbar support, which will be standard for the UK version of the Audi A4 e-tron. The vehicle has a variety of interior colours to choose from, including black, steel gray, brown and beige.

The Q4 e-tron features the brands famous quattro four-wheel-drive and produces an output of 302bhp, which is enough for 0-62mph in just 6.3 seconds. Select your destination on the infotainment system and as you depart, you will immediately find the vehicle has an impressive instant response thanks to a high-output electric powertrain.
