Volkswagen introduces the all new Tiguan R, the first stand-alone performance model inspired by the best-selling Volkswagen Tiguan SUV. The Tiguan R is an athletic SUV and features Volkswagen’s latest 4MOTION R-Performance Torque Vectoring system and adaptive chassis control (DCC), riding 10 mm lower than any other Tiguan.

The Tiguan R features a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, enabling a 0-62mph acceleration of 4.9 seconds. A sophisticated 7-speed DSG transmission and four-wheel drive provide the Tiguan R with its legitimate performance credentials and showcase the versatility and flexibility of the Tiguan R, similar to that of the T-Roc R.

The new R-Performance Torque Vectoring system allows up to 100% of torque through the rear wheels when on the outside of a bend, removing understeer and giving the vehicle more agile handling. The shock absorbers have been adapted specifically for the Tiguan R; there are 21-inch wheels fitted with identifiable, blue-painted callipers and hallmark R quad tailpipes. All of which give the R model a much more purposeful stance.

Moving to the interior, the Tiguan R has a heated R steering wheel which features a new ‘R’ button, allowing the driver to access seven diverse driving modes without the need to take their hands off the wheel. A sport ambience is provided by the clearly structured cockpit and 30-colour ambient lighting, offering all important information within sight.

Exclusive sports seats with integrated head restraint allow passengers to enjoy absolute control with Nappa leather upholstery that provides both style and comfort. The Tiguan R also includes a range of convenient features such as keyless entry and a start button, a rear-view camera, heated front seats and Travel Assist.
