Introducing the Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric

The Volvo XC40 Recharge EV battery has a capacity of 78 kWh. A fully charged battery offers a projected range of up around 200 miles in mixed driving before you need to recharge. However, this figure is dependant on many real-world factors, such as your driving style, outdoor temperature, weather, wind and heating and cooling the car. If on a daily basis you charge the battery frequently, like whenever the car is parked at home, at work or in the city, range should not be an issue for everyday driving.

The charging time of a Volvo XC40 Recharge EV depends on the charging equipment available. A charging cable with an electric connector at home takes approximately 40-72 hours to charge an empty battery to 100 percent. This pure electric compact SUV is perfectly suited for comfortable long-distance driving. If you need to charge during the journey, you can do so at an AC charging station or DC fast-charging station. At a 150 kW DC charging station, you can charge the battery from zero to around 80 percent in approximately 40 minutes.

The XC40 Recharge EV comes with the latest Volvo intuitive tech and built-in Google applications. With Google Maps fully integrated in the car and hands-free voice control enabled by Google Assistant, real-time traffic info and automatic rerouting let you reach your destination with less hassle. A built in route planner will alert you to when it’s time to charge your battery before power runs low. It also recommends when and where to charge, helping you enjoy a more relaxed journey.

In terms of comfort, a flexible and roomy load compartment at the rear provides space for whatever you need to bring. The roomy interior will comfortably accommodate all passengers, and includes carpeting made entirely from recycled plastic, whilst the open-and-tilt panoramic roof provides great views of open skies. If Both of your hands are busy, a simple movement of your foot under the rear bumper opens and closes the hands-free tailgate provided the keys are close by.

All pure electric vehicles in the Volvo Recharge line will come with the new Recharge tyres as standard, including the XC40 EV model.
