Toyota announces third GR model to join its line-up.
The all-new Toyota GR 86 has made its world debut, becoming the third newest sports car in the Toyota GR portfolio. The vehicle was revealed in an online event hosted by Toyota Gazoo Racing and Subaru Corporation.
The original GT86, which was launched in 2012, was sold more than 200,000 times worldwide and the latest version expects to build onto that success. The Toyota GR 86 will maintain essential fun-to-drive characteristics and is expected to be the lightest four-seater coupe in its class. Powered by a four-cylinder engine which boasts 2.4 litres, which is an increase compared to the original GT86 with 2.0 litres.
The Toyota GR 86 has almost identical dimensions to the original GT86, but through experience of motorsport competition, Toyota's latest model has been enhanced with various new features. The sports car has impressive agile handling due to maintaining a low centre of gravity, whilst aerodynamic components such as the air ducts deliver enhanced handling and stability.
The all-new and highly anticipated Toyota GR 86 will be available in the UK, with more details to come later in the year.
