Mercedes-Benz have released their first all-electric saloon, the most aerodynamic car in the world. The German manufacturer will be releasing two new models this summer, these are the EQS 450+ with 245 kW and the EQS 580 4MATIC with 385 kW. The Mercedes-Benz EQS is produced in a carbon neutral environment along with recycled materials. Mercedes-Benz overall mission is to focus on reducing their carbon footprint with green power, their charging energy comes from renewable sources. The aim is for half of their cars to be fully electric or plug-in hybrids by 2030 and, as part of their Ambition 2039 initiative, the long-term target is to offer a carbon neutral fleet.
The interior allows consumers to feel a sense of luxury and reassurance while driving. The new optional feature Drive Pilot will allow drivers to carry out secondary activities while the EQS takes control, all by 2022. Drive Pilot will recognise emergency vehicles, traffic signs, accidents and roadworks. Alongside this feature, the EQS will have pre-installed Intelligent Park Pilot allowing driverless parking in multi-storey car parks.
