Volkswagen is offering a first peek at the new Polo GTI, which will become the premium version of the Polo product line. The new GTI model represents a sleek, dynamic, and expressive design and is the sportiest in the series, with a high-torque front-wheel drive and sports chassis. GTI fans express their loyalty and excitement towards the new Polo GTI – “Once a GTI, always a GTI”.
The official Polo GTI will premiere at the end of June 2021, just in time for the traditional GTI weekend meet at Lake Wörthersee. Looking back on a long history, GTI fans met for the first time in 1982. The event not only attracts car enthusiasts, but also became a true folk festival with the motto 'GTI'.
The interior of the new GTI will include a heavy focus on digital tech, with a 10.25-inch digital driver's display. Climate control will be integrated within the 8.0 infotainment system.
The exterior will see a facelift. Including new LED headlights and a reshaped lower grille. An LED light bar will stretch the width of the front. GTI red trademark highlights will remain, with a new set of alloys.
The new Polo GTI will feature an updated version of the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which will include a power boost up to 210hp.
