The All-New BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé

The new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé epitomises sporting elegance and fuses spaciousness with driving pleasure. The chassis has been optimised for improved handling and mild hybrid technology increases dynamism and efficiency. With a spacious cabin and a larger, versatile luggage area, the new model represents modern functionality like no other. It communicates new BMW design language by featuring sharper looks, improved driving dynamics, a superior engine line-up and more interior and boot space, retaining its characteristic strengths in both everyday driving and longer journeys.

The new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé will be built at BMW Group Plant Munich, with the UK market launch beginning In November 2021.

Performance

BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive takes traction, directional stability and agility to even greater heights. The system is fitted as standard in the range-topping model BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé and is available for the 420d diesel model as an alternative to classical rear-wheel drive. Mild hybrid technology is included with the straight-six petrol and diesel engines. A 48V starter-generator acts like an electric drive unit that assists the engine, allowing it to operate within an efficiency-optimised load range as much as possible. An electric boost effect is also offered, which adds an extra 11hp to give the power unit an even sharper response.

BMW M440i xDrive

A six-cylinder in-line unit powers the BMW M440i xDrive, which has been developed with racetrack expertise. It generates a maximum output of 374hp with torque peaking at 500Nm, enabling the car to sprint from 0-62mph in just 4.7 seconds, all complemented by the distinctive-sounding standard M Sport exhaust system.

BMW 420i and 430i

The upgraded BMW TwinPower Turbo technology enhances the performance of the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engines. The more powerful of the two generates 245hp and a peak torque of 400Nm, enabling it to accelerate to 62mph from standstill in only 6.2 seconds. The four-cylinder engine in the 420i produces 184hp and a peak torque of 300Nm, launching it from 0 to 62mph in 7.9 seconds.

Interior

The interior of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé combines driving pleasure and spaciousness with a refined, premium ambience. The high-centre console and flowing surface structure running from the instrument panel into the door panels provide a cocooning feel in the front seats.

LED lighting comes as standard for the cabin and includes reading and interior lights in both the front and rear. The BMW Live Cockpit Plus also comes as standard, as well as an audio system with DAB+ tuner and six speakers. The hi-fi speaker system option increases the number of speakers to 10. If you want an ultimate feast for the ears, the Harman Kardon surround-sound system is an option, which increases the number of speakers to 16 and has a digital seven-channel amplifier.
