Porsche has set itself an ambitious goal as the brand pledges to further reduce their CO2 emissions across its supply chain by 2030.
This change is now in effect and applies to any supply contracts awarded for providing production materials for its vehicles. Any suppliers not willing to make the switch to certified green energy will no longer be considered by Porsche long-term.
Uwe-Karsten Städter, Member of the Executive Board for Procurement at Porsche AG says, "Our battery cell suppliers have already had to use green energy since 2020. And now we are taking the next important step: we stipulate that our series suppliers also use only renewable energy to produce our components, to help reduce CO2 emissions even further. We recognise that we have a responsibility to ensure that supply chains are transparent and sustainable."
Produced in the now carbon neutral Zuffenhausen plant in Stuttgart, the Porsche Taycan is a product of Porsche's pledge to continue to reduce its carbon emissions.
