CUPRA Born is one of seven finalists in the European Car of the Year 2022 awards.
CUPRA Born, the brand's first all-electric vehicle, is a finalist for the 2022 European Car of the Year awards.
This is the second consecutive year a CUPRA model has been shortlisted, following the CUPRA Formentor's nomination in the same award in 2021.
Shifting to electrification and a more sustainable future, CUPRA is showing what is possible from the brand, extending the already extensive electrified line-up that includes four plug-in hybrid versions: CUPRA Leon, CUPRA Leon Estate and CUPRA Formentor with two different power outputs.
“CUPRA is an unconventional challenger brand, born only three years ago and that for a second year in a row reaches the final seven for the Car of the Year award. This recognition proves that CUPRA is here to stay,” said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of CUPRA.
The CUPRA Born is built with advanced powertrain technology. Thanks to the e-Boost performance pack, the maximum output is up to 170kW (231PS), with a battery pack size of up to 77kWh which delivers a range of approximately 335 miles for an even longer, more engaging driving experience.
The new CUPRA Born has been designed with connectivity at its core, packed with state-of-the-art digital features. Park in the tightest of spaces with ease thanks to the Top View Camera (available as an optional extra) and the 12” infotainment system. The Travel Assist camera and sensors along with the Pre-Crash Assist bracing the vehicle in case of collision, provide a seamless driving experience. There is also an option to add the augmented reality head-up display, offering an immersive driving experience.
The prestigious Car of the Year 2022 award brings together a panel of the most respected motoring journalists from across Europe with the objective of finding the most outstanding new car on sale.
Consisting of 61 members, the panel represents 23 European countries, who come together to pick the overall champion. The winner will be announced in February 2022.
