The BMW 5 Series Saloon market launch will begin in October 2023. The new model will be offered worldwide. With all-electric drive and plug-in hybrid systems depending on the market region, as well as highly efficient petrol and diesel engines incorporating 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
The all-electric BMW i5 is being launched in two variants, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive and the eDrive40. The BMW i5 enables AC charging with an output of up to 11 kW as standard and up to 22 kW as an option.

The BMW 5 Series Saloon offers enjoyable driving in everyday traffic and a high level of comfort on long-distance journeys. Generous space, modern functionality, a high level of acoustic comfort as well as high-quality, precisely processed materials, fine workmanship and advanced digital services characterise the ambience in its interior.
New digitalised functions have allowed for the BMW 5 Series Saloon to have a significantly reduced number of buttons and controls compared to predecessor model. The fully digital display system consists of a 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch Control Display. A new deign for the steering wheel has been implemented to create a flattered lower section and haptic feedback on the control panels.
Equip with extensively enhanced fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology and is being launched in two variants.
The BMW i5 M60 xDrive is an electric all-wheel drive. The system torque generated is up to 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) when M Sport Boost or the M Launch Control function is activated. This enables the BMW i5 M60 to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, its top speed is electrically limited to 230 km/h (143 mph). With a range of up to 315 miles.
The BMW i5 eDrive40 has electric motors that drive the rear wheels and generates a maximum output of 250 kW/340 hp and a maximum torque of up to 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) with Sport Boost or Launch Control function. With a range of up to 357 miles.
