A brief history of the Porsche 911 in celebration of 60 Years
Frankfurt International Motor Show, 1963, the first Porsche 911 was unveiled to the public with the name 901. In the past 60 years over 1.2 million 911s have been manufactured, with evolving models the Porsche 911 has developed in performance, technology and design to what we see today.

Porsche 911 S/T
The 911 has been developed into eight generations over the 60 Years:
Original 911 (1963-1973) - With around 81,000 produced, it has an air-cooled flat-six engine instead of the four-cylinder boxer engine of the 356, yet still had a top speed of 130 mph.
G series (1974-1989) - The second generation was designed by Anatole Lapine with the aim to create Porsche that is easier to drive but still producing an impressive performance.
964 (1988-1994) - To mark the 25th anniversary of the Porsche 911, the release of an exciting all-wheel drive version of the 911.
993 (1993-1998) - The fourth generation made a significant development for both the technology and the exterior design. The 1993 model has wider and flatter front wings and a smaller luggage compartment.
996 (1997-2005) - This generation had a major change on their technical front as the 911 had a new water-cooled engine which dramatically changed the Porsche 911.
997 (2004-2012) - The most note-worthy changes were the design to the sixth generation of the 911 as new headlights were developed as well as larger 18” wheels as standard. Porsche continued to improve the power of the 911 in this new edition.
991 (2011-2019) - This slightly larger design also has an improved engine and manual gearbox which improved the fuel consumption of the 911. This edition paved the way for the modern 992.
992 (2018-present) - The most modern generation has a new read bumper and larger exhaust tips than ever before. Discover the modern generation of 911:

911 Carrera

Carrera
The traditional design is often known as the 911 Carrera, and has become a popular model. The Carrera’s impressive spec prioritises comfort with the GT sports steering wheel, instrument cluster and sports seats plus. The model is also famously known for its impressive performance, producing the ultimate driving pleasure from the twin-turbo six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine. Available in three body styles: Coupé, Cabriolet and Targa, and many other models.
Targa
The Targa is well-known for the removable roof panel over the front seats, which unique design has made it popular since its release.
Turbo Models
The Porsche Turbo gains its name from its two turbos creating impressive power that boots the 911’s performance. Also available in Turbo Cabriolet, Turbo S, and Turbo S Cabriolet, which claim an incredible top speed of 205 mph.
GT3
With a track-focused design the GT3 is known for its high-revving naturally aspirated motor and impressive aerodynamics. Also available with Touring Package which accelerated 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds. Further developed into the GT3 RS which focuses on being stronger and faster, beating the 0-62mph acceleration in only 3.2 seconds.
Dakar
Inspired by the Dakar Rally winner of 1984, the desert race is a test of endurance and robust technology, the Porsche Dakar is ideal for both on and off-road driving. The distinctive sports chassis make it 50mm higher than the standard model, and is available in Rallye Design Package.
S/T
In celebration of 60 years of the Porsche 911, the release of the 911 S/T impresses with it’s classic elegant exterior and sporty black leather interior, with aspects for the Heritage Design Package.
