Whilst Lexus celebrated 30 years since the brand was founded, the Spanish Antoñito and Manolín won first place in the Lexus UX Art Car competition at Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille. They achieved this for their beautiful and vibrant artwork that represents the iridescent scales of fish.
The event is “one of Europe’s leading festivals of luxury motoring, arts and lifestyles”, says Lexus, and it was held at the historic Château de Chantilly, which is located North of Paris. The guests submitted votes for their favorite amongst the four finalists, all of which created completely different artworks on Lexus’s new UX compact SUV.
Denis Brogniart, the French television broadcaster, was the one to announce the results of the competition. Runner-up was Leitmotiv, an art collector who created a black and white design on the Lexus. Antoñito and Manolín, as winners of the competition, will be guests to the 2020 Milan Design Week, in which Lexus has had a large role in since 2005.
