Created to evoke the original fun of driving in the city, the all-electric Lexus UX 300e is the latest addition to the UX range of petrol and hybrid vehicles. It will be available to pre-order from the 1st July 2020.
Press 'power', grip the carefully crafted steering wheel and the unique character of the first Lexus EV (electric vehicle) becomes apparent. Take to the streets to experience its swift linear acceleration and confident cornering. Sharing the striking urban looks of all UX models, it’s powered by an advanced electric motor delivering 150 kW (204 DIN hp) and 300 Nm of almost instantaneous torque.
The UV EV is built at Lexus's award-winning Kyushu plant alongside other electrified vehicles, with production overseen by 'Takumi' master craftspeople. Attention to detail is everywhere, from the hand-sanded paintwork, to the cleanroom assembly of electric motors, to the leather seats that are inspired by the traditional Japanese quilting technique of 'sashiko'.
The new UX EV takes a brave new approach to electric car mobility. Focusing on the drivers environment that feels open yet secure, its luxury cabin is inspired by the Japanese architectural concept of 'engawa', where the boundaries between the inside and outside are apparently seamless.
Driving the new UX EV, you’ll enjoy both agility and very precise steering. This confident feeling pays tribute to the car’s low centre of gravity combined with the extra rigidity of the reinforced chassis and battery unit. Tune your EV to suit your mood by exploring the dynamic possibilities of Drive Mode Select. Or dial up your favourite driving style using one of four deceleration modes.
The UX EV has a driving range of up to 186 miles (WLTP)* between charges depending on driving conditions. When connected to a home AC charging station 3 pin pug, it takes 7 hours^ to fully charge the battery. If you are using a DC (direct current) charger this can be as quick as 50 minutes^ for 0-80% state of charge.
