2021 promises to be another year of innovating and exciting models. In this article, we have put together a selection of some great models set to go on sale in the UK in the spring.
CUPRA el-Born
On sale early 2021.
The latest addition to the young CUPRA family is all-electric. Set to arrive on the UK market in spring, the el-Born is hoping to combine sustainable driving with the excitement and dynamism of the CUPRA brand. CUPRA CEO Wayne Griffiths stated that “CUPRA el-Born displays all the genes of the CUPRA brand and we have taken the original concept to the next level creating a new sporty and dynamic design and reengineering the technological content. CUPRA el-Born is the living proof that performance and electrification are a great match.”

Porsche 911 GT3
On sale early 2021.
Currently in the latter stages of its development, Autocar suggests "the new Porsche 911 GT3 could be the most anticipated car of 2021."
The 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 is likened to its Speedster counterpart, but with some improvements, including 503bhp - more than its predecessor's 493bhp - and a bigger shape, whilst still maintaining lightness in weight. Plus, a 50% reduction in downforce all adds up to make it a pretty quick machine that we can't wait to see in 2021.

Mercedes EQS
On sale early 2021.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS promises a range of up to 435 miles and a 459hp electric motor with all of the classy performance and fun of the Mercedes S-Class. The exterior design itself will not be much changed from the EQS vision concept, which was first revealed back in 2019, however its has a lower stance and is more coupe-like than the concept model.
The battery of the Mercedes EQS can be charged up to 80% in less than 20 minutes, according to Mercedes-Benz, and you should have a range of up to 435 miles (this figure was tested under WLTP conditions).

Volkswagen ID.4
On sale early 2021.
Volkswagen's all-electric SUV is the eagerly anticipated addition to their ID. range. The design concept combines the fresh, almost futuristic look, similar to its ID.3 sibling, with a strong, muscular drive and feel.
The power of the ID.4 comes from a 99kW battery, which provides a range of up to 323 miles - one of the largest SUV charge capacities set to join the market.
Charging the ID.4 to 80% capacity takes only 30 minutes, and with Volkswagen's new We Charge charging system and range of wall boxes that you can use to charge your ID.4 from home, charging your ID.4 is more accessible than before.

Toyota Yaris Cross
On sale early 2021.
Unveiled back in April this year, the Toyota Yaris Cross was revealed as a compact SUV that combines everything you love about the Yaris hatchback, with the practicality and capability you would expect from a Toyota SUV.
The Yaris Cross is built on Toyota's new GA-B compact car platform, which you will also find on the Yaris hatchback released this summer. Add an additional 240mm length and raise the chassis up by 30mm, you have an extremely well-balanced, agile drive - plus ample space for your luggage.

BMW iX3
On sale early 2021.
The BMW iX3 is the next step in BMW's electrification, and features the fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, which provides 80kWh of power from its electric motor. This gives you up to 285 miles worth of charge, acceleration from 0-62mph in just 6.8 seconds and 285hp.
Re-charging the iX3 to 90% capacity, from one of the BMW public charging points (up to 30,000 located throughout the UK) takes 34 minutes and a 10 minute charge can provide 62 miles of range.
