I have been a customer of Lincoln Listers Toyota since around 2004. Recently I’ve purchased a new used car from your Lincoln brand, and I felt I must write to commend Mike Thorpe, the salesman who looked after the sale from start to finish.
Also, I would to like bring to your attention Jo, the service manager with whom I have had dealings for many years.
Firstly Mick. To me he is the epitome of what a good salesman should be. He listened interminably to my ramblings regarding the type of car I wanted. He endured my dilemma between ŠKODA Yetis and Toyotas. He offered his opinions when asked and never tried to force his ideas on me. His gentle suggestions when problems arose or when I dithered even more than usual, were like a soothing balm and he never once showed signs of impatience or indicated a negative judgement on my sanity. All this, coupled with an easy, humorous approach made the whole (fairly traumatic) process much more tolerable (traumatic because I didn’t really want to part with my dear little old car). I appreciate he is ‘only doing his job’ but without doubt he went the extra mile at one point I think we were possibly the last people in after ‘closing time’.
As for Jo- she too is a credit to your company. She is that certain, calming voice at the end of the phone. Her knowledge of cars in her care is immense.
Elaine and Charlotte on your reception desk at Lincoln- how lovely to be greeted and taken care of by such a friendly and helpful pair. They too have the ability to calm the nervous middled-aged woman who is undergoing minor trauma (whether a car purchase or a service). Nothing seems to much trouble for them and yet I’m sure that they, as the ‘front of house’ come under a lot of pressure from both sides of the desk. They were always confidingly polite, cheerful and helpful in so many different ways. They catered admirably to the emotional and physical needs which I had.
The Yeti was great but Toyota plus the Lincoln personnel won through!
